Which-is-the-right-vibration-type- Whole body Vibration machine Review - Compare every major vibration exercise plate - Compare Vmax Pulser, Hypervibe G217, Powervibe, VibePlate Zaaz 20
There are two main types of plate movement types: Linear and Pivotal. How to choose between them depends on the reasons someone is needing a machine.
If someone is looking for lymphatic drainage they probably will want a platform that has a higher G force at the lower speeds. For bone density, I look for just the opposite. If someone is going to be standing mostly leaning back on their heels and they have a sensitive back, I would recommend a lower ballistic impact machine.
With the pivotal machines, the first type only goes to 14 hertz. The 2nd type goes past 14 hertz. Once the machine starts going past 14 hertz it requires much heavier duty tilt table mechanisms. Also, just because a machine doesn't go to high speeds doesn't mean its low quality. Just about all machines can go to 14 herts but not all have high G forces upon impact of acceleration that the high performance low speed machines can offer. 99% of the people that I talk to never use their machine past 14 hertz. The only people that buy pivotal machines that are designed to go over 14 hertz are athletes and my focus on machines is bone density and lymphatic drainage. If you want to make sure your machine can handle high acceleration training, then the Hypervibe G17, Nitrofit plus (13mm), or the Vibeplate are ones to look at.
Spiral motion types are the latest hybrid machines. The Vmax Pulser 2 is the top spiral machine and has all the reinforcements underneath. Many people like to use the spiral motor with the pivotal motor at the same time to get a super intense workout and others like it for a quick circulation boost.
