Horsepower Scams:
I am sick of all the manufacturer's trash talking other brands on their horsepower. The companies that sell the 1000+ watt machines say the 400 watt machines are half the power and this and that. Just FYI, the Zaaz 20k is 400 watts and more powerful than any 1000 watt machine I have tested. Their 400 watts is AC, not DC. If a DC machine was 400 watts then a machine would be in trouble.
What many people don't realize is that amperage and voltage have a lot to do with the motor. A hair dryer can be 2850 watts but has ultra low amperage but can have high voltage. 1 horsepower is 746 watts. So, some of these machines claim they have 3 Horsepower motors, So that would mean they have over 2100 watts. So why does it say on their specs that it has only a 1000 watt motor. Can someone say PEAK power. Understand average power and actual horsepower after gear reduction and you will understand this.
Horsepower is really better for heavier loads, and I mean like over 200 pounds. If a person is a lot heavier than 200 pounds and draws more amperage than the machine is rated for, this is when the motors heat up and bog down at certain speeds.
Some machines have higher wattage and amperage while some machines are rated for higher horsepower to handle much heavier people. If you are confused on which is the right power you need for your type of workouts or weight, let me know on my vibration quiz here.
